NO PROPHET IS ACCEPTED IN HIS OWN COUNTRY 29th Feb

The Good news is for all, not only for the Jews or the Gentiles. Whether presented in a raw or a cooked form, truth is always bitter. People get angry with Jesus because He puts forth the truth, no matter what taste it leaves in the mouth of those who hear it.

Repentance and forgiveness is a very useful tool in binding relationships with people and with God. Jesus puts this extreme condition of repenting or perishing so as to emphasize its importance.

THE PRODIGAL SON 27th Feb

‘A penitent is always welcome’; this summarizes the Gospel of today. Though the son (we) goes away from his father (Abba Father), he (He) doesn’t forget Him. HE is eagerly waiting for him to return back to His love and be whole again. Our God is an ever forgiving, merciful and a loving God.

BE A COMMITTED CHRISTIAN 26th Feb

In today’s Gospel Jesus warnes the scribes and chief priests who thought that they were the chosen ones of God. These are the same people who did not help and enhance the lives of poor people who were really in need of help. As Christians we are also chosen by God, we need to be aware of this fact and act wisely.

THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS 25th Feb

This reality of the wide disparity between the rich and the poor which is narrated in the parable today is very much prevalent today. The message of this parable is that we are not over here just for our own selves, but for others. My life is not only mine but also others. The society contributes towards my growth and hence I too am obliged to also do likewise.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP 24th Feb

Today’s Gospel narrative brings Jesus’ future trials and troubles into scene. Then comes the mother of Zebedee’s son’s asking Jesus to fix places for them at either side of Him in His kingdom. Jesus makes it crystal clear to them that it’s not for Him to grant it to them.

PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH 23rd Feb

Jesus is very clear when it comes to practicing what ones preaches. Through all that He says He simply means to re-emphasize the saying ‘Actions speak louder than words’. Students learn more from the teachers behavior than from what s/he says. He also says that we must not seek for power and titles, but rather be simple and humble.

THIS IS MY SON 21st Feb

Today’s Gospel gives a glimpse of heavenly figures. It is difficult for human beings to understand the things of heaven. Further along in the Gospel we read about a voice (Abba Father) which affirms Jesus as His Son, the Chosen One.

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES 20th Feb

Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us. It is difficult to do so, not impossible.
Remember, whenever you feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, Jesus is to whom you belong.
