In today’s Gospel text Jesus goes back to Galilee
having heard of John’s arrest. Jesus begins His preaching with the message
‘Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand,’ Jesus was the ‘Great light’ in
the Israelite peoples darkness. Jesus message of repentance with the kingdom of
heaven being close at hand, gave them hope. We too need to reach out to Jesus
who will help us to repent of our evil deeds and also forgive those who have
wronged us.
